Dickeys in Plano

My parents are long-time patrons of this location, but sadly, they will likely be looking for a different BBQ option going forward. This is at least the third occurrence where they asked for a simple change and came home with inedible food. The last few times it was the fried okra. A simple request of no salt resulted in okra COATED in salt. It is coated so heavily that it could be preserved for the next 100 years. Today’s order is not only covered in salt but burnt to boot! Tossing takeout from this location in the trash is becoming the norm. You may want to look elsewhere for good food because this location has had better days...

This location has by far some of the best service in the area. The staff is always very friendly and they make sure you get through the busy lunch hour without any delays. I wish they had more businesses in the area that still treated the customer like this restaurant does. We will definitely be spending more of our money with this location.

Good BBQ ordered the family meal with brisket, chicken, Mac and cheese, and potato salad. Definitely get your money's worth. We ate it for two nights for dinner. The brisket was tender fell apart and the chicken was throughly cooked and sliced. Their Frito bowl is really good as well I used to order that during lunch time. I highly recommend giving them a try!

I love good BBQ. I like the BBQ at this location more than most Dickeys. The sliced brisket plate is my go to favorite. I eat here almost every week. Their peach cobbler is great, especially if you add some of the free ice cream to it! Nice way to finish off a great bbq lunch or dinner! I need to give the store management some thanks. They did read my original review, and made some good changes! I promised to update this review and I now highly recommend this place! I believe they serve the best BBQ in Plano.(And no, I was not compensated for this review, just a guy who really loves great Texas barbecue).Thanks.

Food was not great. Employees were great!

Just a pulled pork sandwich. Simple. Well the bun tasted at least a day old. The meat had no flavor without the sauce. I can eat lunch anywhere every day. I'll never ever eat here again! (Just read your response and don't understand. Don't care. Why would I engage "the correct parties" according to you? Pain in the rear. Wasted my time and money. Now engage with the monkey. Hah.

Amazing! Food is mind blowing. All sides from scratch, meats are smoked a minimum of 8 hours. Multiple trips are required to try all they have to offer.

I'd give it 5 stars, but the ice cream machine wasn't available because we didn't arrive until 8 p.m. And didn't finish dinner til nearly 8:30. But the food was great otherwise, despite our late arrival.

Extraordinary vibes and very personal service. The meals were fresh and yummy. Will absolutely recommend this spot to anyone. Convenient prices and generous meals. Great job.

Came at lunch time and everything was hot and ready to go! My husband and I used a deal posted on their window for 2 two-meat plates for $22. Drinks were not included but we can bring our yellow cups back for drink discounts next time. I had brisket, sausage, macaroni and cheese, and baked beans. My husband had brisket, pulled pork, green beans, and macaroni and cheese. We both had a fresh baked roll, too. Everything was delicious! The roll was my 2 year old sons favorite part! The free ice cream at the end is always a special treat! We will be back!

This is the best Dickey’s I’ve been to! The meats, sides, and dining area is the best. They really cook everything to perfection. The staff is very kind and it’s always so clean.

So normally I do not have an issue with this place.Good food, quality service.I ordered 1/4 of a pound jalapeno cheddar sausage...He cut 3 pieces and through in a container. Why? Especially for 5$?I trying to post my photo, but this is unexcusable.Lost my business, going to soulman's from now on!

Good BBQ close to my work. One of my colleagues and I often walk here from work to eat lunch. The chopped brisket sandwich plate is my goto meal although the pulled pork is good too. Be sure to NOT have them put the sauce on when they serve the meat. Wait until you get to the condiment station where they have the hot stuff--yum. And we always get the free ice cream.

Do potato salad was too much sweet pickle relish in it it was over by powerful sweetness.

Haven't eaten at Dickey's in over 5 years. Why? Because there are so many other BBQ restaurants in DFW that are FAR SUPERIOR!Decided to try the new Double Dip Sandwich with brisket, onions and Cheddar Cheese. Wish I hadn't!!! They forgot to put the Cheddar Cheese on the sandwich and the brisket had NO smoked flavor. Save your money as this place is NOT worth it in our opinion!!!!

The meat (beef, turkey AND chicken) were on the dry side but the standard sauce was all the compensation I needed to enjoy the beef & turkey. The alternative sweeter sauce was something to forget. There were nominal trimming. The side orders, coleslaw and potato salad, were acceptable but the okra lacked signature appeal. With so many places in town, variations in quality and standards are inevitable. This experience does not dilute my future expectations.

Use to be better, quality is low

I had always liked this place, but today it was terrible. I and several others had to wait long minutes before anyone appeared to make me a chopped beef sandwich (on a cold bun). The guy making it asked 'sauce?' and before I could say No (I hate BBQ sauce) had already dripped some on the plate and the bun. He didn't offer to start over or even say sorry. I had to wipe it off myself and pinch off the part of the sandwich that he had sloshed it on. It seemed like everyone was in a bad mood, rude and curt. I had to wait another few minutes at the cash register to pay. The sandwich itself didn't seem nearly as good as I remembered. Needless to say I won't be in a hurry to go back.

What can you say , food is delicious people are great. Unfortunately it cost a small fortune to eat their.

Ordered delivery from this location at 7:15pm so a little later in the day. Apparently they ran out of cooked food because the food I received, brisket and jalapeño and cheddar sausage, was obviously microwaved. That’s right! Microwaved “barbecue”! Basically inedible.

back in the days i ran into this place and it was the best place that i ever tested a good meal and to this day still is but only this one place at this adress

This is the Best Dickey's BBQ I have been to in Texas so far.... Excellent Food and Excellent Service

The chopped beef sandwich was great, not very smoky but very moist. The sides I had, black eyed peas and loaded potatoes weren't hot and didn't have much flavor. If you want a chopped beef or other meat Dickeys is reliable but definitely not outstanding.

This location used to be fairly solid, but my last couple of visits have been pretty awful. My most recent visit after a doctor appointment was more of the same. My turkey was slimy, the macaroni and cheese was somehow watery AND pasty, the baked potato casserole was dry and bland, and somehow even the ice cream machine was putting out sub-par ice cream. The only thing that was okayish was the complimentary roll. We had to ask for that specifically, and then had to grab our own with the tongs off the tray the butcher piled on the counter in front of us. Even the peppernints were melted into their plastic wrappers.If you're stuck at a doctor or hospital appointment, there are better food options nearby and in the hospital.

Ribs were cold and fatty. What a disappointment. I live in Florida now and looked forward to having Texas BBQ! Really not worth the money or effort to eat at this location. I won’t give up on Dickies yet, I am really really disappointed!

We ordered food for delivery and some of the order was missing after it got dropped off at our house. We came in the next day for lunch and Arely took care of us to make up for the mistake. Food was great as usual both times

Ordered a couple of 2 meat plate takeouts recently. Really disappointed in the amount of bbq in the box - very little meat when compared to ordering in. Only saw how little meat there was after getting home. Ordinarily, I love Dickeys but will avoid this location from now on.

This spot is nice and roomy, the meals was yummy and the rates were very affordable. quick, effective service and very affable staff members. Highly recommended.
